It’s just the two of us.
> Studio First, Store Second.
Our focus is on designing and creating original objects. The passion is in the making. Everything else plays a supporting role.
> Old Skills, New Business.
This business may be new but, we have 60 years of combined professional creative experience.
Our product types.
> One of a kind.
Completely unique and handmade, these items are only available in the sizes, colors and finishes specified on each page. Some one-of-a-kind objects may have cousins, but never any twins.
> Limited Edition.
These are short production runs, that we don’t plan to make again. When they’re gone, they’re gone. Probably.
> Small Batches.
These are products we intend to make on a regular basis. Sizes, colors and options may change from batch to batch.
> Stuff we don’t make.
Once in a while we may sell something that we designed, but didn’t make. We’ll let you know in the product description.
5 ways we reduce our environmental impact.
> Local market sales.
Allows us to use little or no packaging and reduces the impact of shipping.
> We use recycled packaging.
We use recycled mailers, boxes, etc. It’s not always pretty but it greatly reduces our environmental impact.
> Finishes.
We have a respirator free shop, not because we don’t care about our lungs or brain cells but because all our hand applied wood finishes are non toxic to the planet, us and you.
> Sourcing.
Our goal always is to source and sell as close to home as possible. Most of our hardwoods are from our property or other local sources. Some of the materials we use, unfortunately have to come from farther away. If there is a local option it is always our first choice.
> Made to last, designed to recycle.
We create our products to last, visually and functionally. At the end of their functional life, most of our products can be broken down into their base materials to either re-use, recycle, or compost.
Shipping and pickup.
> We don’t ship every day.
It’s helpful for us to consolidate packing and shipping activities, so it may take up to a week for us to get your order shipped. Many orders ship sooner and we can usually accommodate a polite request to rush.
> Free shipping on orders over $40
within the continental US. We choose the most effective method based on the total order and destination. Orders will typically arrive in 7-10 days.
> Orders under $40 have $10 flat rate shipping. Please select this option at checkout if your order is less than $40.
> Market pick ups
If you plan to pick up an order at the market (seasonal, check our schedule here) use the discount code PICKUP15 for 15% off at checkout. Orders using this code are not eligible for shipping or delivery.
> Multiple shipping options at checkout! Be sure to choose the right option before placing your order. Feel free to contact us with questions.
We’d prefer to see you at a local market.
> Connecting.
Feedback from our customers is a huge benefit to us as creators.
> Sustainability.
Less packaging and no shipping greatly reduces our environmental footprint.
> Choice.
You’ll know exactly what you’re getting. All of our handmade products vary, especially those with natural materials. Purchasing in person allows you to pick out exactly which one will be yours.
> Big Stuff.
ALL of our products are available locally.
> Cost.
Everything is cheaper (roughly 20%) when you buy from us in person.
> Market Schedule.

Our guarantee...
> We guarantee that our products are imperfect. They are made from mostly natural materials by imperfect humans (us).
> Products made in small batches may vary slightly from batch to batch.
> If you ever find that one of our products is too imperfect…please let us know and we will make it right. If it was a maker error we will replace or refund at no cost to you. If you realize you just don’t dig it, get it back to us in good condition and we will happily refund your purchase price.
